Sealcoats are applied to streets about 5 years after they are paved as a preventative maintenance practice to prolong the life of asphalt pavement This year we are likely to again use a “sand seal” that can be driven on immediately but does generate some waste sand, so we’ll have to sweep it periodically |
The “sand seal” is about 25% cheaper than the slurry seal we’ve used the last few years & doesn’t require streets to be closed overnight |
Questions should be directed to the Holmen Public Works Department at 526-6322.
