The Holmen Area Foundation, Village of Holmen, and Town of Onalaska invites the entire community to help clean-up the 3.4 miles of the new Halfway Creek Trail on Saturday, May 3 from 9am to 12 noon. Volunteers should pre-register for the event. On the day of the event, volunteers should check-in at Halfway Creek Park, Shelter A and will be assigned an area and task. Possible tasks may include: pick-up litter and down branches, remove old tires (some in the creek), remove graffiti, and minor pruning. Trash bags will be provided. Anyone who would like to donate to the event or with special equipment/abilities should contact Mike Brogan at 608-526-2152 prior to the event.

Things to bring:
Drinking water, appropriate clothing (rain or shine event), work gloves, boots, waders, long-sleeved shirts; hand shears, loppers, pruners, rakes, motorized trimmers, and gas leaf blowers (with gas). Motorized tools are to be used only by the owner. You are responsible for keeping track of your gear and using it safely.

Things not to bring:
Pets, unsafe equipment, chain saws, motorized vehicles (tractors/ATVs). Vehicles will not be allowed on the trail.

Caution: There is a possibility you will encounter poison ivy, bees' nests, and other insects while clearing the trail. Please dress accordingly and come equipped with any remedies you may need.
