There's plenty to do in and around Holmen:

Biking on the scenic Halfway Creek Trail that follows Halfway Creek for 3.4 miles and connects with the Great River Bike Trail located in Midway to the south and the Holland Bike Trail to the north.

Hunting and fishing along the upper Mississippi River basin.

Golfing on three championship courses: Cedar Creek Country Club, Drugan's Castle Mound and Trempealeau Mountain.

Holmen boasts a wide variety of eateries including Subway, Pizza Corral, Blue Cup, Features, The Frosty Mug, McDonalds, Jacqlons, Burger King, T-Jo's II and Drugan's Supper Club.

Lodging is available in Holmen at the Prairie Inn and Suites.

Holmen has 12 parks, featuring Deer Wood Park, a 40 acre community park that includes hiking trails, sledding hill, 3 ball fields, 4 tennis courts, playscape, picnic areas, hockey rink and more. In June of 1999, the Village opened the Holmen Area Aquatic Center, a 12,000 square foot, zero depth aquatic center with a 200 foot water slide, drop slide, water play features, sand play area, bathhouse, and concessions. Scenic Halfway Creek Park in the center of the Village, features the Halfway Creek Band Shell, Halfway Creek Trail Head, Holmen American Legion Memorial, heated restrooms, lighted volleyball court, shelters, playground, horseshoe pits, and natural areas on both sides of Halfway Creek.
