The Holmen Park & Recreation Department Fall Youth Volleyball Program is designed to teach the fundamentals of volleyball through skill work and by reinforcing those learned skills through game play. A special emphasis will be placed on player conduct and sportsmanship for players, parents, and coaches. Participants in our 3rd and 4th grade program will compete exclusively against other teams from within our program, while girls in 5th and 6th grade will be placed on grade specific teams to compete in a regional league that will play across the area on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Please follow the links below for information, schedules, rules, and directions to game sites for your child’s age group.
We will be relying on parent coaches to run these programs. If you are interested, please indicate on your registration or contact Chris at the Park & Rec Dept. – 526-6317 or cgeary@holmenwi.gov. There will be a coaches meeting on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 5:30pm for 5th/6th Grade and 6pm for 3rd/4th Grade at Holmen Village Hall.
3rd & 4th Grade “In-house” Volleyball
Program is open to youth grades 3-4. The program will focus on teaching basic fundamentals, with “in-house” league play. 45 minutes of team practice followed by “in-house” style league games.

5th & 6th Grade “Traveling” Volleyball
Participants will practice in Holmen on Tues/Thurs until games start. Once games start (Week of September 19th), teams will practice on Monday nights and will play games each Tues/Thurs through the end of the season. There will be an end of season tournament on Saturday, October 22nd – site TBD. Teams will play against local teams in league games (West Salem, Onalaska, BGC, Blessed Sacrament, St. Pats, etc.). Game schedules will be handed out at practice as soon as it is completed. No transportation provided.
Location: Prairie View Elementary (for home games/practices)
Days: Tuesdays/Thursdays, Monday practices once games begin
Dates: September 5 – October 21, 2023
Time: Practices: 5th Grade: 5:30pm-6:45pm, 6th Grade: 6:45pm-8pm
Games: TBD based on schedule (typically sometime between 5pm-8pm)
Fee: $65 (includes jersey to keep)
