Do not use email to notify the police department of your urgent complaints or concerns as email is not always checked regularly.

In recent years, law enforcement as a whole has been the subject of much scrutiny. Communities across the country have begun to question various aspects of their police departments. Questions include but are not limited to use of force, department policies, departmental demographics and budgets, just to mention a few.

The Holmen Police Department always wants the public to be informed. We believe the more informed you are the better you will understand the Holmen Police Department.

The Holmen Police Department has a long commitment to community policing and building the trust of the community. We believe this Transparency in Policing page is just another way to strengthen our relationship with the community we serve.

With all of this in mind, we encourage you to take the time to review the following information and contact us with questions:

Prior to June of 2020 the Holmen Police Department did not have a separate Use of Force Form to track use of force specifically. If force was used officers were required to write a written report and describe in detail the use of force. In June of 2020 the Holmen Police Department began using a separate use of force form that will be filed with the required written reports but will also be used to better track the use of force by the Holmen Police Department.

Starting at the end of 2020 we will begin posting the annual use of force statistics as part of our Transparency in Policing.
